We are living through a time when sports figures are looked up to
as heros, but there are few real heros amongst us. This man,
Todd Beamer, lead his fellow flyers in a take-over against
terrorists who had seized control of the airplane that Mr.
Beamer was on during the September 11, 2001 terrorist
attacks, and he won. The terrorists were not able to
fullfill their mission of death and destruction to more
Americans. For that, we can thank Mr. Beamer and
the other brave people who were on
United Airlines Flight 93
that crashed in Somerset County,
Pennsylvania, southeast of Pittsburgh.
