Walter O'Ryan was a gift from my
children on my 41st birthday. He went with me every where I went, and he was my best buddy for nine years. We went through so much together. During the nine years that I had Walter, he only produced two litters of puppies. They were beautiful, but back then I wasn't interested in breeding Cocker Spaniels. Now I wish I'd kept one of his babies. Walter was stolen from me in July 2ed, 2000. He disappeared without a trace, and his absence broke my heart. I posted "Lost Dog" posters on every telephone pole within a 5 mile radius of my home; I advertised in the local newspaper; and I checked the Humane Society and both Animal Control facilities in our area twice a week for two years, but with no luck. I never found my buddy. I still miss him very much, and I find that I still look for him everywhere I go. |
There have been a couple of times that I thought I saw him, but as it turned out, the dogs I saw were not my Walter. I can only hope he is happy and being well taken care of wherever he is at. I still hope that those who were responsible for his disappearance find it in their heart and call me ... even if it is to just let me know that he is alive and well. I seriously doubt my hope will ever be realized ... but I know that Walter will remember me and will be waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge with Annie Spaganni, Prissy, Polly, Red, Poena, and Pileka when my time comes. We will all walk over that bridge into forever together. |
