All about Anna's Oreo Cookie: Oreo and our other female black and white parti were litter mates and were born on Christmas morning, 1998. Santa brought them into this world due to the breeder being hospitalized with a medical emergency. He had a heart attack. By the time he was released from the hospital, it was too late to dock the puppies tails, so our black and white gals have the tails that God gave them. Also, these gal's coats are shorter than coats found on show dogs, but the length of her coat is the ideal length for tracking woodchucks or small critters through the thorns and high grasses found in the field. The wonderful news is that we have found that Cocker Spaniels without docked tails and shorter coats are just as good-natured, cheerful, sweet, sensitive, friendly, gentle, loving, trusting, obedient, playful, and loyal as Cocker Spaniels that have had their tails docked or were born with long silky, coats!

Now let me introduce you to Oreo . . .

Thanksgiving Morning - November 27, 2003
Oreo is a very gentle, loving little gal. She used to love me best, but now her loyalty goes to Dan, my older brother. (I work a regular job, whereas Dan is a stay-at-home Cocker Spaniel guy who tinkers with cars and pickup trucks in his spare time. I tease him because every time I look out the kitchen window, I see him sitting under our elm tree pettin' one of our Cocker's ... usually Oreo. After saying that, I probably should mention that he is also the one who is there with the gals during birthing of their puppies. I never could handle that sort of thing ... )
