I Will Not Forget
Before September 11, 2001, we were
naive enough to believe that our shores
would be never be attacked again ...
I Will Not Forget
I Will Not Forget
I Will Not Forget
I Will Not Forget
I Will Not Forget
We were wrong. I will not forget the
angels who left us...
I Will Not Forget
I will not forget the heroes amongst
us... and I will remember to thank you.

I will remember that it is not just our future that you are fighting to save ...

Those who benefit from your actions are adults and children alike ...
I Will Not Forget

Your capacity to love is enormous, and I think you are wonderful.
I Will Not Forget

I will remember that you had the strength to call upon the Lord to ask that He bless and keep you safe even as you prepared for battle ...
I Will Not Forget

and I will pray that He hears you and blesses you a thousand-fold for your honor, your patriotism
and your bravery ...

I will remember that there were times when your bed was in a foxhole or in the shade of a jeep ... and ...
I Will Not Forget

I will remember that you slept with your weapons close at hand ... and I will remember the Godforsaken weather you endure ...

I will remember that you stand watch, so I can go about my day-to-day chores ... and
I Will Not Forget

I will remember that your thoughts and hearts are focused on the welfare of your friends and family back home ...
I Will Not Forget
I will remember that your average age is the late-teens to mid-twenties ...
I Will Not Forget
and I will remember that though young, possibly frightened, and in a foreign land, you are America's best.

Your bravery and your sacrifices
should be a lesson to us all ...

I Will Not Forget

and I will remember that many of you will never get to go home to your families ... and I will forever morn your (our) loss.

On September 11, 2001, Americans watched the television reports and listened to
the news on the radio with horrified, unbelieving ears. This could not be happening. Not here.
Not to us. Not in the United States of America.

But then, we hung our heads and cried as we buried our dead ...

and with an unrelenting resolve, the United States asked our military
men and women to move to the other side of the world and put a
stop to the horrors of terrorism... to protect us from this ever happening again.

I would like to offer my sympathy to all the families of victims of September 11, 2001,
and to the military families who have lost a loved one in Afghanistan or Iraq.
My appreciation goes out to all of the men and women who are fighting for our freedom.
How can I thank you and your families enough?

I pray that God watches over you, and you return home safely to the arms of your mothers,
your fathers, your wives, your children, your sisters, your brothers ...

Thank you.
